SC REALTORS® Donates $20,000 to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

When a major disaster strikes, the REALTORS® Relief Foundation has one goal: to help families who have endured unimaginable loss.

The REALTORS® Relief Foundation wasted no time coordinating efforts for relief in the gulf coast cities and in the greater Houston, Texas, area due to the horrific flooding left by Hurricane Harvey.

SCR heard from members statewide who wanted to know how they could help those affected. Well, we’re proud announce that your leadership team has approved a donation of $20,000 to the REALTOR® Relief Fund.

When South Carolina was affected by the unprecedented floods two years ago followed by Hurricane Matthew the next year, REALTORS® from across the nation contributed to the REALTOR® Relief Fund. In total, with the support of South Carolina members, over $400,000 was raised to assist those who were affected in our state.

The support we received from REALTORS® nationwide in that time of need was humbling and we’re proud of how we answered the call with Hurricane Harvey.

Unfortunately, hurricane season is young and Hurricane Irma looks destined to be another major catastrophe. Please make sure you are prepared as parts South Carolina will likely be affected and pray for any in harm’s way.

Also, please consider making a contribution to the REALTOR® Relief Fund here. It is a great program and really does make a difference!

It’s inspiring to see our members come together in times like these and I’m proud to have the opportunity to work for such a gracious group.

Stay safe!
