We are thrilled to announce a significant addition to our Western Upstate team. Please join me in welcoming Addie Patterson as our new Director of Government Affairs.
Our current GAD, Michael Dey, is preparing for his well-deserved retirement later this year. To ensure a seamless transition and continue elevating our advocacy efforts across the Western Upstate region, Addie will be working alongside Michael over the coming months.
Addie joins us with an elite background in legislative policy, having most recently served on the staff of Jeff Duncan. Her insider experience with federal and state policy—combined with a deep understanding of the issues facing our region—makes her uniquely qualified to protect your interests and the rights of property owners in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties.
What this means for our Members:
In her new full-time role, Addie will be a constant presence in our local jurisdictions, with a focus on:
- Elevated Advocacy: Monitoring local ordinances and legislative actions that impact your business.
- RPAC Leadership: Leading our RPAC initiatives to ensure our voice remains the strongest at the table.
- Enhanced Communication: Providing the data, voter guides, and weekly updates you need to stay informed and engaged.
You will begin seeing Addie at our upcoming committee meetings, local government hearings, and Association events. We are fortunate to have both Michael and Addie working together during this transition to ensure the Western Upstate Association remains a leader in government affairs.
Please feel free to reach out and welcome Addie to the team when you see her. You can also contact her directly at addie@westernupstatemls.com.
