Attention BIC’s

As BIC, you are now required by LLR to take a specific BIC course, titled BIC Duties and Responsibilities, prior to renewal.  This 4-hour course counts as part of your elective requirement.  This mandatory course is IN ADDITION to the regular core course, TRID Safely in a Flood of Disclosures. Because this course is not required of the general licensee population, it may not be easy to find before June 30.  Therefore, we are notifying you NOW that it is imperative for you to get this course out of the way as early as possible. We are offering this course at the Association office on 05/02 and 06/21 to meet your licensing needs. Register now to reserve your space at

What’s New for 2018 Renewals? The Verification Site!

Our long-awaited continuing education credit verification site is up and running for 2018 renewals.  We have asked for quite a while to have providers upload the continuing education credit you receive to a central depository so that you can go in to check that you received credit for courses taken.  That has finally come to fruition and you recently received information from the SC Real Estate Commission on how to check your credit at the verification site  It will be imperative that you go to the site to check before renewing, because a second feature of the site is that you will not be allowed to renew unless the required credits have been uploaded.

March 2018 Market Updates

Supply remains low in most markets and categories. Buyer demand continues to show that there is room for growth, but we still have not reached a point where a year-over-year increase in the number of homes for sale can be anticipated. For the 12-month period spanning April 2017 through March 2018, Pending Sales in the Western Upstate region were down 0.9 percent overall. The price range with the largest gain in sales was the $150,001 to $200,000 range, where they increased 8.4 percent.

Reports are that the Rejection of Offer Form is not being provided to buyers or buyer agents.  This is  mandatory document to be used when the seller does not respond to a written offer. When an offer is presented to a seller, one of three documents must be returned to the buyer or buyer’s agent in a timely manner:

  • Written Acceptance of Offer
  • Written Counteroffer
  • Rejection of Offer Form

This is not an option—it’s the law.  View the entire law at
